Sports Handicapping - Totals Strategy
Totals are often overlooked by amateur sports handicappers but professional sports handicappers know that much of
their income comes from betting totals. I don't want to say that handicapping totals is easy because it is definitely not, but
they allow for a much larger margin for error if you are paying attention. Think about it, how many times have you had an NFL pick that was an
OVER and it went OVER before the end of the third quarter? It happens all the time and is especially important at the end of the year when the spreads get tight and
sports handicappers need to find winning plays. I have a few things I look for in all sports and I will share them with you. In the NFL picks, look for games played in high wind, a dome team on grass early in the year and a hot offense vs a cold defense. In NCAA football picks, look for
a passing team in the wind or rain, an under-acheiving hot defense playing a passing (high scoring) offense at home and SEC teams in the rain (UNDER). In the NBA picks, look for good defensive teams on a back to back (OVER) and
a fast paced offensive team on a back to back (UNDER). In NCAA basketball picks, look for a fast paced offense at home vs a slow paced offense (OVER) if you think the home team will win (The idea is the slow paced offense will have to play fast paced to keep up). In MLB picks, always be on the look out
for a cold pitcher vs a hot offense and hammer the OVER. These are not all fail proof but they are definitely a good start for anyone looking to be a profitable sports handicapper.
