In need of a vacation? Well, join the freaking club! I may not have the funding to send you on a trip, but I do have a recommendation on a beer that will bring you right to your hoppy place.

“Staycation” by Highland Brewing is a killer session IPA that is light-bodied with hoppy characteristics that goes great by the fire or sitting at the beach. When you hear the word “sessionable” you may not know what they mean by the term and that’s okay. To put it short and sweet, when I hear something is sessionable, I automatically autofill to the word “crushable” or low ABV meaning you can pound these suckers down with zero regret. Simple, right? Without having an over powering amount of bitterness, for being a West Coast IPA, I personally get more citrus/ grassy notes giving it a full flavor that doesn’t leave you needing another beer to chase the bitter hoppieness away. I would recommend this beer to pretty much anyone who is looking for a beer flavored beer or as a starter to the IPA family since it sits at only 40 IBU’s and is a light, refreshing 4.9% ABV.

Living in Florida I know we can find this beer almost anytime of the year at almost any store that carries the good stuff. If you’re closer to the west coast I’m not 100% sure on this breweries distribution area. They are located in Asheville, NC so I am positive if you live anywhere in the surrounding states you’ll be able to get your hands on this beer. I personally snagged a 6 pack for the Super Bowl party we attended and was only able to get my hands on 2 out of the box before they were all gulped down. Not complaining, it always feels good to get non-craft beer drinkers to stray from their norm and go for something independently owned. Highland Brewing like I said is located in the heart of Asheville, NC which if you didn’t know is one of the top 5 cities for craft beer in the United States and they were even the very first brewery in their city. Now days if you visit you can throw a rock and hit another FANTASTIC brewery but they definitely pioneered the area along with Sierra Nevada paving the way for the rest to follow suit. Not only is this beer a must try, but their spot is also 100% a “bucket list brewery”!
