Just in the nick of time for Orlando Beer Week, a collab between two Florida powerhouses has officially dropped and will be on tap/ in distro for weeks to come. This Intracoastal x Tactical collabĀ is a “Floridaweisse” brewed with Prickly Pear and Red Papaya. If you’re not familiar with a Floridaweisse don’t worry you’re not the only one since it’s borderline a new/made up style. Ending with “weisse” presumes that it’s part of the Berliner weisse family which is a true statement but it simply means it’s a Florida twist on a classic style emphasizing fruit additions for greater depth.

This beer would be, in my book, considered “crushable” meaning you can take this beer right to the face with zero regrets. With notes of vanilla, blood orange and melon flesh, you’ll almost tear up once you finish your four pack (speaking from experience). Even though the hue of this beer is a Clemson Orange, I highly suggest not holding that against it and trying it anyway.

Tactical brewing is most known for winning “Best Lager” in the state of Florida in 2019 and has been churning out exemplary beer since they opened their doors in 2018. Located in Baldwin Park, this veteran owned and operated brewery has prided themselves on giving the City Beautiful a place where people from all walks of life can come and feel welcome, especially all veterans, active duty serviceman and first responders.

As for Intracoastal who is going on their THIRD expansion, which in my opinion speaks volumes for their beer and customer service. Based out of Melborne, Florida these guys have been working tirelessly on can release after can release. I personally stock up right before tailgating which always gives the guys a strange look on their faces since I can drink one beer to match their five crap beers ABV. Moral of the story is you need this beer for game day, boat day or just after an obnoxious work day. Cheers and happy drinking!
